Ecovalia organizes the second edition of the BioRestauración Ecological Cooking Competition.
The initiative is open to the participation of Andalusians over 18 years of age or residents of Andalusia, who will be able to register in the amateur or professional category to choose to win more than 6000 Euros in prizes and ecological products. The chef and presenter Enrique Sánchez, as well as the chefs of restaurants with Michelin Star Celia Jiménez, Diego Gallego and Jesús Segura, among others, will be part of the jury. The different phases of the contest will begin in June in Cádiz and will continue in the rest of the Andalusian provinces until December, when the grand finale of the II edition of BioRestauración will take place.

After the success of the first edition, which registered more than a hundred participants, Ecovalia, the Spanish professional association for organic production, has launched the second edition of this contest whose objectives include the promotion of the nutritional values and benefits of consume organic products, as well as encourage their incorporation into restaurants.
According to Álvaro Barrera, president of Ecovalia, there are more and more “people who are concerned about having a healthy diet based on organic products, as is also increasing the number of restaurants and professionals who are betting on their incorporation in recipes and cards. Hence, from Ecovalia we continue to bet on projects such as BioRestauración, to recognize talent and good gastronomy ”.

The jury will be made up of chefs from Michelin Star restaurants, chefs from hotel chains, heads of hospitality schools and cooks, such as: Enrique Sanchez (chef and TV presenter); Celia Jiménez (first Andalusian woman to obtain a Michelin Star as head chef at the ‘El Lago’ restaurant in Marbella); José Miguel Magín (chef Hoteles Santos `Saray´); Miriam Faba (vegan and raw vegan chef, creator of `Veganeando´, blogger and YouTuber); Yolanda García (chef, formerly in charge of the kitchen of the restaurant `Alejandro´, in Roquetas de Mar, Almería, with a Michelin Star, and now with her own restaurant` Proyecto Gastroconciencia´ and collaborator of the Caparrós Group); Diego Gallegos (chef of `Sollo Restaurante´, which has a Michelin Star, a green star and a Repsol Sun); Juan Martínez Lao (professor at the `Hurtado de Mendoza´ Hospitality School in Granada); Camila Ferraro (first woman to win the Madrid Fusión Revelation Chef award); Jesús Segura (chef of the restaurant `Trivio´, which has a Michelin Star and a Repsol Sun) and Ángel Paulino Hernández, winner of the first edition of BioRestauración. In addition, in the different Andalusian provinces, the jury is completed with chefs, owners, managers and directors of catering establishments who are members of the Club de Oro de la Mesa Andaluza.
