D. José Luis Salas Martínez opened in 1977 El Cairo restaurant downtown as a small family business.
Now, it is a highly renowned restaurant group with three establishments in all, the most recent is Sevilla Bahía restaurant. Well situated in Nervión quarter, close to Santa Justa train Station, cosy, elegant and comfortable, specializing in exquisite seafarer cuisine, high quality fresh products from Sanlúcar (on the mouth of the Guadalquivir river) and from the Cantabrian Sea, northern Spain, always keeping best flavors of typical cooking over ‘low fire’. Seafarer style rice dishes or with red king prawns, trammel sole, black clams, rock red-mullet baked in salt, Biscay style cod with mushrooms and prawns, Basque style center of hake, deep fried fish…
As well as superb meat: Iberian pork from Huelva (best in Spain), veal or beef cuts from northern Spain. The menu is up to 60 different dishes and the Wine-cellar includes all Spanish D.O. Handmade desserts such as the ‘milhojas’ millefeuille with cream, the truffle cake or the custard pie with cream, among others.
