Whe are in Cadiz > Ventorrillo El Chato

This emblematic “Ventorrillo”, restaurant is located on the road from Cádiz to San Fernando, in a unique environment, flanked by the sea of the Bay of Cádiz. The building was a former coaching-inn in eighteenth century, and possibly the well known “Tapas” were born here -suggested by King Fernando VII when visiting this Ventorrillo- to “cover” (tapar, tapa) the traditional small glass of wine called “chato”. José Manuel Córdoba, son of Mr Gonzalo Córdoba (key name in Cádiz cuisine in late twentieth century) acquired the property in 1993. Today, the Ventorrillo is a renowned gastronomic enclave specializing in fresh traditional fish from Cádiz coast (70% on the menu) as tasty as Sea-bream, Mackerel, Snapper… The succulent Atún de Almadraba, Tuna, is the very King of the house. Excellent List of desserts and wines.
